MAcarbon’s New Mobile Website

These days, people are spending more and more time on mobile devices. They expect to be able to do more from their phones and tablets at any moments notice. They expect information to be available at their fingertips. We recently revamped our mobile website, and now you can easily access our website anywhere you go!

Monterey Car Week through the eyes of MAcarbon

MAcarbon had an extremely busy, but good Monterey Car Week this year. We had booths at 5 events this year and attended a few others. We started the “week” off by attending the Pre-Reunion races at Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca. This is an awesome event and it’s very low key. There aren’t any crowds, the cars are amazing and it’s only $25. If you don’t want to pay you can watch the races from the “Cork Screw” for free.

The next event was ‘Concours on the Avenue’ in Carmel-by-the-Sea. This is a free concours event on the main drag of Carmel and most importantly…it’s free. There is always a very eclectic group of cars here and it is a must see.

Friday was the ‘Werks Reunion’ Porsche Club of America show and we had a tent displaying our carbon parts. This show is a must for all you Porschephiles, and the coral is probably more impressive than the show itself.

A couple of us left ‘Werks Reunion’ and headed over to Monterey for the inaugural ‘Exotics on Canary Row’. This was the first year for this show, but you would never know it by the amount of people and cars in attendance. We had our booth set up overlooking the picturesque Monterey Bay, and we brought along two of our customer’s cars (Ferrari 360 Spider and Audi R8 V10 Coupe). Next to us was one of 3 or 4 McLaren P1’s. Also in attendance were a few Porsche 918’s, a couple Ferrari F50’s, a Pagani Huayra, a few Ferrari La Ferrari’s and a Mercedes CLK GTR…just to name a few. This is sure to become one of the more popular events during ‘Monterey Car Week’ in the years to come.

On Saturday evening we had our parts on display at the ‘Serata Italiana’, held by our friends at the Lamborghini Club America. This was our 6th year sponsoring this event and it’s always a blast. Our table of parts was in set up in a beautiful court yard full of stunning Lamborghini’s including the prototype ‘Asterion’ hybrid and the new Aventador SV Roadster.

When most of the events in Monterey were winding down, the Ferrari Club of America national meet was just getting started. On Sunday evening we had a booth at the Hyatt in Carmel for the national meet and had a great time talking to our old and new customers.
Monday was the Ferrari Club Concours, where we had a tent displaying our products. This was a really nice event with a great mix of Ferraris new and old.

It was a tiring week, but it was a blast and we can’t wait for next year.  Click on the photos below to see the entire gallery!

The MAcarbon Quality

At MAcarbon, we make parts that we are proud of and pride making a quality product that looks as good or better than OEM.

That final 10%: The thing that makes us stand out from the rest, is our attention to detail…that final 10%. We use the best carbon fiber available at any price and lay it down with as little distortion as possible. We always match the OEM carbon patterns and we pay close attention to the direction of the carbon pattern, the finish and overall look of the part. After several layers of clear and sanding we always do a final ‘color sand’ making the parts smooth and free of any ‘orange peel’.

Lamborghini Gallardo Air Vents (Second set ever) and Map Light

We make parts that stand the test of time and never look aftermarket. In late 2005, We made this set of vents and map light. The vents are actually the second set we had ever made for a Gallardo (the weave is in the wrong direction, because we made these before Lamborghini offered carbon for the Gallardo). Even though these parts have been installed and used for some time, they are still in perfect condition.

Our products are made to last – with quality second to none, and nothing motivates us more than a happy customer.

Cars and Coffee at Canepa Design 5-10-2014

The 2nd Cars and Coffee of the year at Canepa Design was just as big as the first. This Cars and Coffee has really become a popular even compared to the previous couple years…as it should be. Beyond the normal people and there cars are the 100 or so cars housed by Canepa. Some of the cars are in the middle of restoration, for sale and there are about 25 that are housed in the motorsports museum upstairs. It is awesome to have the freedom to walk around the entire facility and look at everything. Not to be outdone by the Canepa cars, are the cars in the parking lot. People are really bringing some cool stuff out every month, and there is a little something for everyone. This month there were several American cars from 1920′s rat rods to tri-year Chevys and 1960′s muscle cars along with about 30 Porsches, a few Ferraris, a McLaren, tons of BMW’s and more.

Enjoy the pictures!

SEMA 2013

Full carbon Pagani Huayra at GoPro

SEMA 2013

If you ever go to SEMA, make sure to wear comfortable shoes and travel light.  I made the mistake of bringing my DaKine Photography backpack with about 25 pounds of camera gear stuffed into it.  I had a tripod, a bunch of lenses, a couple mics and the list goes on.  After about 3 hours of walking around the show with this on my back, I was about to collapse, and the last thing I wanted to do was reach into the bag to switch lenses…I just wanted this thing off my back!  Luckily I was with my friend that works for GoPro, so we stopped off at their amazing booth (with a full carbon fiber Pagani Huayra) and dropped off our bags.  I was left with just the essential gear for taking pictures and a little video of the show (Canon 5D, 16-35 L Lens, and a Rode Mic).  We walked the halls of The SEMA Show for a total of 8 1/2 hours and we probably only saw 1/4 of the show.  You really need to spend a few days to really enjoy this show and appreciate everything.  We had tunnel vision about half way through and all the cars started looking the same.  Cars that we would spend half an hour looking at in a parking lot didn’t even get a 2nd look from us at SEMA.

This was the first time in the last 5 years that we didn’t have a booth and it was fun to enjoy the show as a spectator, but I really wish I had given myself at least 2 days to see and enjoy everything that is SEMA.

Enjoy the pictures!

Bitter-sweet: 24 Hours of Le Mans

One cannot think of Le Mans this year without thinking of Allan Simonsen …. The Danish Aston Martin driver who died Saturday shortly after the green flag dropped …. To satisfy his families wishes the Aston Martin Racing Team soldiered on ultimately to a 3rd place in the GTE Pro class …. On the podium, his German and English team-mates held up the Danish flag to honor him …. Godspeed Allan!

Overall Winner:

Tom Kristensen / Allan McNish / Loic Duval

Another win for the Audi Team Quattro …. this makes twelve wins since 2000 …. only Porsche has more wins with 15 under their belt …. with Porsche returning with a P1 Prototype in 2014, they are going to give Audi a run for their money!

GTE Pro class Winner:

Porsche AG Team Manthey entry

Marc Lieb / Richard Lietz / Romain Dumas

GTE Amateur class winner:

IMSA Performance entry

Raymond Narac / Christophe Bourret / Jean-Karl Vernay

Thanks for a great, epic race …. see you in 2014!

24 Heures du Mans

The 90th running of the 24 Heures du Mans is upon us!

56 Cars start the epic twenty four hour race this coming weekend …. We are rooting for Audi for the overall win, but with Porsche entering a prototype in 2014, our allegiance may change next year! Will Ferrari be soon to follow?

Dominant is the word to describe Audi’s efforts at the 24 hours of Le Mans …. Ten wins since their first one in the year 2000 is really something! …. This year should be more of the same, as they snatched the first three starting positions in qualifying

Anything can happen in such a long endurance race …. as Steve McQueen used to say, “Everything else is just waiting!”

The SEMA show

Ferrari 458 race car

The SEMA show this year was bigger than ever. An event that we always look forward to, this week long gear-heads dream was a real success. MAcarbon shared our booth this year with T&B Carbon Manufacturing, our European sister company. T&B came all the way from Belgium to debut a new product line, ‘Pearl White Carbon’. This product has a white carbon weave with a subtle pearlescent coating.

McLaren MP4-12C

Lamborghini Aventador

Whats your favorite? McLaren or Lamborghini?

We like ‘em both. Pick your favorite color.

Our friends from Wheel Boutique had the beautiful  white McLaren MP4-12C parked at the HRE booth. They have great taste as it sports a MAcarbon steering wheel.

While there are always Mustangs and Camaros at SEMA, this year the hot car was the Scion FRS. From mild to wild, this is the car to ‘tune’ this year! But…. don;t hold your breadth for the MAcarbon FRS product line. The cars are always great, but, we also welcome old friends and new ones alike.

Missing from the photo is Andre Pouliot and  Caroline Tonet. Andre is our Director of Molded Production and Caroline is the Director of our European Operations. Despite their ‘slogging’ it at the booth for many hours, we were so busy all week we only remebered to take a picture when they were both off duty.

We look forward working with the many new clients that we met at SEMA this coming year.
