Carbon Repair FAQ

Q: How long has MAcarbon been doing carbon repairs?
A: We have been doing carbon repairs since 2007. We get asked so frequently to fix parts, that we thought it would be time to publicize our services.

Q: How much does a carbon repair cost?
A: Suprisingly, carbon repair is inexpensive! Some carbon parts are almost priceless - in most cases, a repair is going to be cheaper than the cost of the part. Costs vary on the extent of the damage.

Q: What do we need from you to get you the most accurate quote?
A: We require the following:
- Photos of the defect
- Size of the piece
- Your location (for shipping purposes)
- How perfect you want the repair

Send these details to SALES@MACARBON.COM

Q: What is your turnaround time?
A: It depends on the extent of the repair. Average turnaround time is 1 to 2 weeks for small repairs and upto 4 weeks for large items.

Q: What if my carbon is good but the finish is damaged?
A:  Cracked clearcoat can be fixed.  However, if the carbon is cracked, then a perfect cosmetic fix is impossible without laying new carbon.

Q: What do you not repair?
A:  If the replacement is less than $400-500, its probably better to just buy a new piece.  Examples of this would be any inexpensive front splitter bought through eBay.

Q: Can you fix my Porsche 996/997 defroster vents?
A: Porsche 996 and 997 defroster vents cannot be repaired!  Just replace them with the factory plastic panels.  This is our most common 996 question and top three for the 997.

Q: What are the finishing options?
A: We generally restore the carbon parts back to the original finish. We use a stanard clear coat finish on all our parts - We also have a matte option as well.

Q: How do I ship my carbon parts?
A: To mail your parts to us, please visit a UPS, FedEx, or local carrier for packaging, labels, and shipment. Shipping fees are paid by customer. Once completed, your repaired part will be shipped back to the address you provide. Shipping charges will be added to the balance of your final repair invoice.
